I PUT THE VIGNETTE EFFECT TO MAKE IT MORE HUMAN...
AS IF A TREE AND A ROCK CAN BE PERSONS !
|
IT IS RELATIVELY EASY TO MISTAKE THE SYMBOL FOR
THE REALITY.
STILL EASIER TO NOT RELATE TO THEM AT ALL.
In this case the tree symbolizes the individual.
The rock refers us to the symbolism of the Bible, and to Jesus in particular.
Now, as Christians, we know that our life is "upon the
rock", "that Rock is Christ Jesus".
Just as this tree grew from a seed to the mature tree it once was, we, as individuals grow from conception
to maturity; often, without any sign that our life is based "on the rock". You see, we all grow through the processes
of life, death, and change whether or not we are aware of the nourishing providence of Creation as ordered by the Creator.
"For by Him was all things made."
| WE APPEAR TO THE WORLD JUST AS THIS TREE |

|
| JUST AS THE TREE ABOVE ONCE DID! |
LITTLE DOES THE WORLD KNOW THAT OUR LIFE IS "HIDDEN
IN CHRIST".
That is, our collective lives are hidden in Christ, as
Christians or not. We are all nourished by the same Providence.
IT IS ONLY WHEN WE CHOOSE TO DIE TO THE WORLD, JUST AS DEAD AS THE NEXT TREE, SUCH THAT nothing
of this world CONTRIBUTES TO that life we truly have in Christ,
THEN, CAN CHRIST BE REVEALED AS THE FOUNDATION,
"THE ROCK".
| ALL THE COLORING OF THIS WORLD MUST BE REMOVED... |

|
| FOR THE FOUNDATION OF OUR SPIRITUAL LIFE TO BE REVEALED |
|
| NO MATTER HOW "BIG" WE MAY GROW IN THIS WORLD |
|
|
| WE MUST "DIE" TO REVEAL THE CREATOR |
|

|
AND, WHEN WE DIE TO THIS WORLD...
WE FIND THAT WE ACTUALLY "NOURISH" NEW LIFE IN THIS WORLD !
From the parasitic life (the fungus and moss on the tree)
To the ferns amongst the roots,
To the laurel bush with its roots intertwined with the "tree";
OUR LIFE IN THIS WORLD,
by being dead to this world,
provides the necessities for other life (our children and relatives)to
live.

The real beauty of a life "dead to this world" is the intergration
of that life into the total spectrum of life in which we find ourselves.
MATTHEW 13:31, 32
Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of
mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field: Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown,
it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.
