THE SPIRITUAL SIDE OF LIFE

Welcome to the Spiritual Side of Life.
I have, in my 60+ years of wandering through this world, discovered that almost everyone
has a sense of this dimension to life. While my personal orientation to the unseen creation is, by my choice, Christian;
I am fully aware that other religions simply approach it from a different, and not so necessarily "wrong" perspective.
In fact, the perspectives of other religions has greatly enriched my own uniquely "Christian" views. Some would say
they have distorted them, but that is simply because they give no value to other beliefs. Our beliefs about the unseen
creation is what really makes us uniquely human.
Those of us who have a love affair with "REASON" often come to the conclusion
that: if I can't see it (by whatever means is available), and see the confirming data, then it is either non-existent
or unnecessary. For many purposes, this is fine.
However, when we delve into relationships, beginning with the most elemental ones (say, of chemical
compounds), we quickly have to understand that forces far beyond the elements and their atoms influence their behavior.
As the entities we choose to study become more complex, the interactions of these unseen forces also
become more complex, and soon we are, at some point, left to assumptions and conjectures concerning their influences.
In the uniquely human realm of experience, we find
that "relationship" is of more concern than the physical entities involved. This is to say that we can, and indeed
must, treat our physical bodies as part and parcel of the physical creation around us; from the smallest particles... to the
universe yet unseen by any means.
The non-physical attributes of human personality are those most affected by our
view of the unseen creation. These non-physical attributes are the very things which determine how we "relate" to each
other, individually, familially, and in community. As we participate in a larger and larger community, the
uniqueness of our collective view of the unseen creation determines our relationship with other communities; personal,
religious, occupational, political, or any other community.
So. Here we delve into RELATIONSHIP.
We leave the PHYSICAL RELATIONSHIPS to the scientists
and researchers.
We want to EXPLORE the many facets of our RELATONSHIP
with the UNSEEN, UNHEARD, UNTOUCHED creation,
as they are revealed in whatever sources we discover.
While most everything we do is aimed at influencing
another (relationship);
HERE we want to open vistas of perspective, expand
our immediate awareness, enrich our
SPIRITUAL SIDE OF LIFE
without coercion to accept any particular view presented.
Some of the views may not necessarily be included
in my personal view,
any more than they may be in yours.
I am most confident that, as Alan Watts once said, "The
truth will out."
Rather than a bunch of page links to things you may or may
not want to read, I have chosen to provide the links below in table format with a short comment about the article on that
page.
Read what you think you might
like.
Then read what you think you
have no interest in, anyway !
